Change is good. Change might hurt, might be merry, harsh, undeniable, or can bring a fortune.

If I ask you to replace your morning cup of coffee with a cold drink, that might bother you. Instead, replace your shredded pillow with a fluffy one that would completely take you to seventh heaven in your sleep. We all go through changes, some meant to be, some very extempore, and a few that can be dropped off. Now it’s your choice how to react to the changes that occur in life.

Taking you back to a memory of mine, my window had a pretty view of banana trees. If you don’t know, let me tell you, bananas produce fruit only once in a lifetime. We humans cut them before they die by themselves because we are thirsty for soil or let’s just say resources! Similarly, the view out my window was spoiled so that the land could be used for other chores.

Passing seasons the grass got greener with no trees or plants growing. My eyes kept wishing that someday there might be plants growing. It wasn’t a wish waiting to be claimed yet my heart hoped to see something grow as days passed by. This is one among those stories where there is manifestation happening subconsciously.

Indeed, there was a plant blooming at a corner, taking up space, casting shadows, dancing through the air, sunbathing, and rain showering. A banana plant. I watched it grow. As long as I could have.

Whoever is reading this, just so you know this is my last semester of college. The window I own won’t be mine anymore, someone’s view it would be! I hope that the banana plant feels happy that I made friends with them. I might not see it the next time I come back to this place! I hope that it knows that its presence brought a change in my life. Every morning I wake up and check it out first. How much it grew.

The change it brought for me has been serene. The chance of not being able to watch it for those few seconds every day is unnerving to me.
