Words that are growing in me -1

I’m what I choose to be.

The urge to narrate things and put them out there is still sparking in me, finding time out from the errands. I guess it’s a form of making peace for myself, where I am on my own, thoughts to myself, nothing to disturb, just my laptop or my pen and notepad having a date along with me.
I feel sad at times that self-dates are no more a thing. I don’t find people who happily tell that they went to the pond and sat by themselves adoring the beauty or had a walk, just to get themselves a cup of chai and read that newspaper or skipped classes just to read a book!

Being a reader, one always finds certain sentences, proverbs, and phrases that luminaire and stay with you no matter what.
There have been a few things that hugged me close and left an imprint, which not just changed my perception but they did slightly reflected my personality, as the way I am. Nothing belongs from the same core, it’s all scattered collections from books and people and podcasts. (Podcasts can do miracles for a person, I believe so).

Recently I have been reading a book called Happiness Express, it’s a self-help book. As one can expect a self-help book would have, many suggestions, a bunch of must-do’s in a day-to-day schedule, and a few recommendations for food and fitness. Well yeah, it was something of that sort, yet one sentence stayed in my head very consciously. It explained how coffee is a great way to dehydrate yourself if you are unaware of it. And when I got to know that one cup of coffee equals 1.5 additional liters of water to keep the body in an adequate hydrated zone. Being a kid who has been through skin breakouts and skin allergies, it was one big no to it. Not like I don’t consume it at all, mindfully I choose if it’s the right time to have it or not.

If you have ever heard of Michelle Obama, you might know her overly-rated autobiography, Becoming.
A fearless and clearly confident woman who has written wise words from her heart in the book. I won’t be kidding when I say that throughout the book I must have cried at least 8 to 9 times. When I say I cried, I literally tore out. In between the lines, she quotes, “On this journey, you never know what you’re being prepared for”. Read it again!
We deter about our own life. One never knows what will happen the next moment. Closely analyze one incident and try annotating the dots(try it like an exercise, like a mind map, will you?). You will eventually find that everything is correlated. Everything.

This part is about the podcast ‘Making a writer with Dhruv Sehgal -01’. There is one line that says, “there are some filmmakers who make films, and some filmmakers who make statements”. Being a kid born in a country where Bollywood is hyped, I always enjoyed the cliched romance and friendships that were shown. I could never explore the films that had a deep meaning towards them cause most of the statement films have flopped.
We people in the country want entertainment over meaningful stuff.
The first time I tried exploring films was ‘Parched’, which one of my close friends suggested when I was in 11th standard. It left me in a void space. It enlightened me about a population that I never thought existed!
It got me hooked. Slowly I made myself aware of such statement movies apart from the Bollywoodish world. The photograph, The Lunch Box, Piku, Masaan, English Vinglish, Tamasha, Sir and October….(many more in the list).

I now crave statement films over entertainment.

Not podcast or not any article, Mostly sane aka Prajakta Koli’s RealTalkTuesday’s video segment have healing conversations. She usually puts videos where she talks about her life in general and updates about how she’s been. A few of them are open talk with the viewer to help them in a very spiritual way. In this one vlog, she talks about how important it is to keep the mind space healthy.
It took me back making me think of all the tiny things I could have done just to keep myself benign.Form the bare minimum acts of folding my sheets after waking up and brushing my teeth before sleeping, putting the almonds in water to soak, and writing affirmations/gratitude.
The bare minimum acts make a whole lot of difference by making us feel lively and pragmatic.
I’ll put out the link for you here. I hope you might love it as well.

I hope you find bits of words and emotions from here and there that make you the unique you.
There is one more thing I wanna pen down here “Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.” — Bill Nye.
